ETI Corporation provided a range of Planning, Civil Engineering, and Landscape Architectural services for the expansion of Baptist Memorial Hospital Memphis and Baptist Memorial Hospital for Women at their 35-acre East Memphis Campus. In addition to these two separate hospital buildings, the campus master plan included the new Heart Hospital, new Physician Office buildings, new parking garages, powerhouse expansion, and reconfiguration of existing surface parking and vehicle circulation. Services provided by ETI included project planning and zoning approvals including all negotiations with the neighborhood, project and construction scheduling related to zoning approvals, drainage study, design of new internal roadway, reconfiguration of parking lots, design of new main entryways on Walnut Grove Road and Humphreys Boulevard, design of traffic signals, relocation design of the City of Memphis 48" Wolf River interceptor sewer through the site, design of the emergency department?s helipad, utility coordination including upgrade of Memphis Light, Gas and Water (MLGW) system and internal and offsite communication system, landscaping and associated site improvements, and construction observation and administration. ETI provided construction documents for the reconfiguration of the internal site access drives and parking lot area and the construction of three traffic signals to alleviate traffic congestion and safety concerns. Modifications to the existing drainage system to reduce the flooding potential of the employee parking lot were provided. ETI also provided landscape documents in conformance with the zoning requirements. ETI Corporation was the hospital's liaison with the adjacent neighborhoods and provided designs to mitigate effects of construction and campus expansion to the neighborhood. Specifically, ETI designed and located the new parking garages to provide screening walls for the neighborhood, and developed an extensive landscape buffer around the perimeter of the site.
