Universal Health Services, in an effort to improve the Lakeside Behavioral Health Campus' efficiency, chose ETI as the Project Planner, Engineer and Landscape Architect to add an adult service building to the existing campus. For operational reasons, the new building would need to be located over an existing low stream area, which was heavily wooded. ETI's design took into special consideration the wooded campus environment and designed a site that was well screened, and took full advantage of the existing lake. Special care was given to maintaining existing trees and minimizing disruptions to the existing campus operations. The project included relocation of water, sanitary sewer and drainage systems, reshaping of the existing lake, design of connecting pedestrian systems, plus site design, landscape design and design review board approval. As the Lakeside Campus had been built over time and designed by multiple consultants, one of the project challenges was to identify the campus backbone utility systems and assign capacities. Limited as-built information was available, and maintenance responsibilities had to be assigned and coordinated with Bartlett, Tennessee Public Works Department.
